What's New?
As many may have noticed, 13 Moons Coven has been on hiatus the past few months. This has been due to a parent of the temple entering the final stages of a terminal illness and then passing away. Currently, we plan to resume open temple rituals on the 3rd of June with a ritual to Horus. We thank you all for your support as we have transitioned through this experience and we look forward to opening the temple doors once more in June!
Welcome
13 Moons Coven hosts monthly magical ritual open to the Pagan community at large, with a focus on Egyptian Deities and mythos. The cycle of our open rituals are tied as closely as is practical to a Lunar cycle, occurring on the closest Sunday to the full Moon, if possible. Our rituals flow from one to the next with a loose narrative reflective of the solar year and seasons around us cumulating in a full lunar year, 13 moons, whereupon our cycle begins again.
13 Moons Coven was founded in August 2008 by Jason and Kimberly Abbott, two former members of the Temple of Brigantia, a Celto-Roman coven based out of Wells, Maine. Along with the other members of the Temple of Brigantia, they worked to host monthly or semi-monthly "open circles" for the Maine Pagan community. Sadly, in the Spring of 2008, the Temple of Brigantia closed it's doors.
Seeing a need in the community for continued public events, they decided to found a new coven and invite the community to their small home in Kennebunk for open Pagan ritual. Working as a magical duo of Priest and Priestess, they began a journey with the Egyptian Pantheon family of Deities that will hopefully continue for many years to come.
