Canceled due to
Kennebunk parking ban!

On Saturday, October 29th, 2011, SMPPD will hold it's first fundraiser for it's 2012 Pagan Pride event, a Divination Night near Samhain! We at 13 Moons Coven have offered the use our private home in Kennebunk, and will be acting as hosts for the event. All are welcome, especially any who wish to practice their divination skills and take advantage of the tradition that the "veil between the worlds" is easiest to penetrate near Samhain. We ask those attending to begin showing up after 5 PM. Multiple spaces will be made available for readings, and there will be ample time for socializing, mirth and merriment.

This is a fun, casual evening where all are welcome to attend so far as our space will provide. We only ask that those attending to bring a modest monetary donation for the SMPPD fund-raising jar, and an item for the potluck supper that will be served alongside the event. We will provide some snacks and drinks and it should be noted that this event is alcohol and tobacco free. Allergy sufferers should also be aware that 13 Moons Coven shares its home with a Siamese cat and two Egyptian spiny mice.

If you have any questions or need directions to the event, please contact us. See you there!

Welcome

13 Moons Coven hosts monthly magical ritual open to the Pagan community at large, with a focus on Egyptian Deities and mythos. The cycle of our open rituals are tied as closely as is practical to a Lunar cycle, occurring on the closest Sunday to the full Moon, if possible. Our rituals flow from one to the next with a loose narrative reflective of the solar year and seasons around us cumulating in a full lunar year, 13 moons, whereupon our cycle begins again.

13 Moons Coven was founded in August 2008 by Jason and Kimberly Abbott, two former members of the Temple of Brigantia, a Celto-Roman coven based out of Wells, Maine. Along with the other members of the Temple of Brigantia, they worked to host monthly or semi-monthly "open circles" for the Maine Pagan community. Sadly, in the Spring of 2008, the Temple of Brigantia closed it's doors.

Seeing a need in the community for continued public events, they decided to found a new coven and invite the community to their small home in Kennebunk for open Pagan ritual. Working as a magical duo of Priest and Priestess, they began a journey with the Egyptian Pantheon family of Deities that will hopefully continue for many years to come.
